Dolly helps you discover movies and TV shows and keep lists of what you want to watch. This policy explains what information Dolly handles, why, and the choices you have. Dolly is built and operated by Pragyan Pandey ("we", "us").
Information we collect
Account information
You can use Dolly to browse without an account. To create lists, you sign in with Apple or Google. When you do, we receive a unique account identifier and, depending on what you share with that provider, your email address (which may be a private relay address if you use "Hide My Email") and your name. We use this only to identify your account.
Content you create
Your lists and the movies and shows you add to them, including list names, descriptions, and the order of items. This content is private to your account.
Information on your device
Dolly stores cached movie and show data and your preferences locally on your device to make the app faster. This stays on your device until you clear it or delete the app.
Technical information
Our hosting providers may automatically record standard technical data such as IP address, device type, and request timestamps in server logs, used for security and keeping the service running.
We do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs, we do not sell your data, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
How we use information
- To sign you in and keep your lists in sync across your devices.
- To provide and secure the app and respond to support requests.
- To fix problems and improve Dolly.
Service providers
We rely on a few providers to run Dolly:
- Supabase hosts our database, authentication, and server functions, where your account and lists are stored.
- Apple and Google handle sign-in. Their own privacy policies apply to that sign-in.
- The Movie Database (TMDB) supplies movie and TV information. Requests for titles go through our servers, so TMDB does not receive your account details.
- Vercel hosts this website.
These providers process data only to provide their services to us.
Sharing
We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the providers above as needed to run Dolly, or if required by law.
Retention and deletion
We keep your account and lists until you delete your account. You can delete your account at any time from the Account screen in the app. This permanently deletes your account and all your lists. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke Dolly's access to your Apple account. You can also email us to request deletion.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict how it is used. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.
Children
Dolly is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections, and access to your lists is restricted to your account. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the date above, and for significant changes we will let you know in the app or on this page.
